Professor Stephen Myers is a complementary medicine expert and commentator, joining NICM as an Adjunct Professor, spokesperson and member of the NICM Research Committee. He is recognised internationally as a leader in complementary medicine education and research.
Professor Myers has been extensively involved with complementary medicine education at an undergraduate and postgraduate level in Australia for the past 25 years. He is also actively engaged in research in herbal medicine, nutraceuticals, therapeutic foods and in public health issues in complementary medicine.
In 2004, Professor Myers was awarded the prestigious Lady Cilento Award by the Complementary Healthcare Council for his significant and sustained contribution to the field of complementary medicine over many years.
Professor Myers has acted as a consultant to industry, government and educational institutions on a broad range of issues involving natural medicine. He is on the editorial panel of three international peer review journals and has a wide portfolio of publications including books, book chapters, journal articles, research reports and invited presentations proceedings.
